Edward L. Shute, 50, of Rt. 2, Plainfield, died in Hendricks County Hospital at Danville Monday evening. Mr. Shute had suffered from cancer. He was the brother of Robert Shute and stepson of Mrs. Evelyn Shute, both of Waynetown. Mr. Shute had been employed by Public Service of Indiana for 24 years as an engineer. He was affiliated with Avon United Methodist Church and was a charter member of Pin Club. He also belonged to Toastmasters International and Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army. Surviving besides the brother and stepmother are his wife, Mary, and three sons, Clark, John and Glen, all at home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home at Plainfield. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
